Health and Physical Education

Health & Physical Education

Health and Physical Education are important parts of the Lower Dauphin curriculum. Health is taught to 6th and 8th grades, and Physical Education is taught to 6th, 7th, and 8th. I teach 6th grade Health and also 7th and 8th grade Physical Education.

Health classes provide the students with the knowledge in social, emotional, and mental health; growth and development; nutrition; cardiovascular fitness; conflict resolution; and tobacco, alcohol, drug and violence resistance education; family life education; and AIDS education.

Physical Education classes provide a wide variety of activities.  This allows students to participate in sports or activities that encourage and promote personal fitness and elevate self-confidence. Classes include team sports and the enhancement of an individual's ability to do their best.
