Meet Mrs. Engle

I am excited to be a part of the Lower Dauphin Middle School Team!  I graduated from Penn State with a Bachelor's in Music Education and a Masters in Teaching and Curriculum with Reading Specialist certification.  I taught music and reading for 10 years in the Elizabethtown Area School District until I left to have my beautiful twins, James and Emily.  In 2013, I graduated from St. Joseph's University with Special Education certification.   I have been teaching in Lower Dauphin since 2014, starting at East Hanover and have been at the Middle School since 2015.

I love to read--primarily science fiction and fantasy.  I truly enjoy teaching kids how to read.  I love the spark they get when they realize they have used a strategy on their own and they are successful.  Most importantly, I love when they enjoy a book and share it with me!  I am looking forward to working with students and helping those reluctant readers find books they also can enjoy.   Besides reading, I am an avid Disney fan.  (You could say IMMENSELY HUGE Disney fan!!!!)

Walt Disney once said, "We keep moving forward opening up new doors and doing new things because we're curious and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths."   I hope to spark this curiosity and help your child to "keep moving forward".
